Apologies for the delay, as I had a medical issue arise. I managed to cast the chart on July 4th as planned, but I was delayed in getting my reactions typed up. Regardless, another July 4th, another year for my mundane divination readings. The last set didn't go so well, but let's see how things go this time.

A visual representation of the 2020-07-04 United States chart

There are six filled houses, so by the method I discussed on Friday this chart lasts six months (until January 4th). There are no repeated symbols, so there are no obvious linkages between houses.

In the fourth house, corresponding to agriculture, natural resources, and the countryside, we have Luis, signifying awareness and attention. The cities have been dominant in this country for many years, but for at least a short while the focus will be on rural areas. There are two potential drivers acting at the moment: the president's base of support is disproportionally found in rural areas, and the pandemic has made the downsides of dense cities much more apparent.

In the sixth house, we have Strahf, indicating dramatic change. The sixth house has multiple aspects, but two that seem particularly relevant are health and employment. The change can be for better or for worse, but it can also be shocking and difficult. Needless to say, between the pandemic's effects on health and on the economy, both are currently in a state of flux, and in six months we can expect changes to both. We know coronavirus, even when it isn't fatal, can have lasting consequences, such as lung damage. Likewise, regardless of the "shape" of the economic recovery (V, L, U, W, or something else), the employment situation is going to be very different at the end. The composition of the economy will shift away from some sectors and toward others, and within industries we'll see similar shifts. The economy is never a static thing, but we can expect changes to come faster and harder than usual. The nature of employment may be changing as well, as more companies embrace work-at-home and other formerly uncommon arrangements, first out of necessity and then out of strategy (e.g., to save on real estate costs in downtown districts or to make a company more attractive to employees).

In the seventh house, representing foreign affairs, we have Iodhadh signifying continuity. For the next sixth months, we can expect tensions to remain where they exist, such as with China. Where relations are improving, such as with India, we will see those trends continue as well.

In the eighth house, we have Ifin. This is a somewhat unusual situation. Ifin, representing attraction, is often a more positive symbol. In this case, though, it has landed in the house of death and misfortune. Suffice it to say, we can expect a series of calamities coming our way. I deliberately chose "calamity" as they may not arise to the level of full-on disasters; nonetheless, it may feel like we're getting a double serving of Murphy's law for a while as all kinds of things go wrong in various ways.

The ninth house, governing the judiciary, features nGeadal reversed, so we can expect a problem to develop. One thing many folks are watching for is the next opening on the Supreme Court, as it will likely kick off a fierce political struggle. However, in this chart there are no indications of that. In particular, the Senate in the fifth house and the executive in the tenth house are both blank, and those would be the two key branches of government involved in nominating any new appointees. Since there's indication of a problem but not a battle royale, my guess is that there will be a highly controversial court decision.

Lastly, in the twelfth house we have Ruis reversed. In personal charts, the twelfth house corresponds to the subconscious, and I think in this mundane chart it does as well. National morale is going to low for a while, and for many folks it will be a difficult time psychologically.

Thus, I would summarize it as change, continuity, and calamity. Specifically, in the next six months we'll see:

* a greater focus on rural areas and concerns
* some major changes regarding health and employment
* continuity in foreign relations
* a series of misfortunes
* a controversial court decision
* widespread feelings of discouragement

In January, I'll come back and revisit how I did.

As a final note, many folks are interested in the upcoming election in November. This chart, though, offers no indications how it will turn out. The fifth, tenth, and eleventh (which represents the House of Representatives) houses are all blank. Given the time period of this chart, even if there are changes of office, the new holders will not take their positions until the end of the chart -- early January for Congress, late January for the President. It's also possible, but this is more me pointing out a possibility than a specific prediction, that changing leadership just won't have much effect on some of these trends.
