So, things have happened. I plan to circle back in early July to evaluate how well/poorly my predictions held up. Part of the reason for making public predictions based on my divinations is to hold myself accountable and thus hopefully learn from my mistakes. As I've been looking back over my July 4th reading -- as well as other, non-public readings -- there's a feature I want to point out and briefly discuss as a general matter.

Laid out visually, here's the reading from July:

I've arranged the houses in the same layout as an astrological chart. In each house, the ogham symbols appearing in that house are arranged in (ogham) alphabetical order and with their upright/reversed orientations shown. Lastly, I've marked symbols appearing in more than one house with a red asterisk to make them more obvious. It is those repeated symbols I'd like to touch on.

Those repeated symbols occur because I generated this reading using the "unrestricted" variant of the Lansing method. This doesn't happen every time, but it is pretty common. For a 12 position reading using a 25 symbol set, about three out of four readings will end up with at least one repeated symbol. I've been wondering if these symbols may be especially important when interpreting the results.

On a static interpretive level, they can indicate similarities and contrasts, such as the upright Coll in the first house, which I read as "sensible" in regard to the people, contrasted with reversed Coll in the third house, which I read as "nonsense" in regard to the media. This configuration can also show movement along a spectrum, and in this case I think it's fair to read them as suggesting movement toward those respective extremes.

On a more dynamic level, though, they can also help inform how we act in response. I think Beith good example to use, as it's one of the most straightforward symbols. One of its upright meanings is something fruitful/productive, and conversely as a reversal it can signify something unproductive. If a reading has upright Beith in house X but reversed Beith in house Y, that gives a hint as to where our efforts are best focused for now. It also, though, puts us on alert for situations where house Y might interfere with or spoil what we might accomplish in house X.

Likewise, if Beith is upright in both houses, we can watch for opportunities where one house can benefit the other. If Beith is reversed in both, we can be on guard against situations where they might mutually interfere and make the situation even worse.

Thus, I'd encourage anyone using these methods to think about any repeated symbols and what they might mean in that particular context. In the rarer situation where a symbol appears in three or more houses, there could be some very complex relationships to unpack from a relatively simple-looking reading.
