Here's the July 4 chart. A few surprises popped up as I was casting it yesterday, so let's dive in.

Five houses contain symbols, so this chart governs until December 4. Notably, it includes the November mid-term elections. The December 2021 chart expires August 4, so it also applies at the moment, but in a more muted way.

As a note, I've started marking repeated symbols using color now instead of asterisks. The specific color doesn't have any significance other than to easily distinguish different sets of repeated symbols in charts where they occur.

The fourth and tenth houses are linked through Ur. The fourth house, governing rural areas and the party out of power, has Ur upright, indicating something coming to rest or settling. It could also signify death, but I don't think that's the case here. Conversely, the tenth house, governing the executive, has Ur reversed, indicating the rise of something. It also features Muin upright, indicating something new. To me, this suggests that the midterms serve as a reality check on the administration, leading them to change their approach. The red parts of the country, in turn, find the outcome less objectionable than the current situation.

Contributing, surprisingly enough, is nGeadal, indicating a solution, in the fifth house, governing the elites. For once, they're helping make things better, perhaps in this case by seeing which way the winds are blowing and shifting accordingly. The two rounds of recall elections in San Francisco this year, for example, demonstrated that there are indeed still limits to what voters will put up with.

The eighth house is a curious result that I'm not entirely sure what to make of. This house governs accidents, disasters, and epidemics, but it also governs financial relations with other countries. Dair upright shows leadership, and Or reversed points to family. One wild guess I could make is that Hunter Biden gets into serious trouble for his seemingly corrupt dealings overseas, the president is faced with a conflict between the interests of his family and of his country, and he chooses his country. (Note that I say seemingly corrupt very deliberately, since this is based on information provided by people who have the ability to selectively leak or not leak based on their interests, and it is exceptionally easy to use that power to mislead without actually saying a single untrue thing; if that sounds to you like a description of media more generally, you're not wrong.) As I write this out, it doesn't sound all that plausible, but I'm also not seeing another pattern of events that easily matches this portion of the reading either. It's also possible that the timing of the events, perhaps right before the election, or perhaps immediately after heavy losses by the Democrats, could limit the president's ability to act otherwise.

Lastly, concerning the courts, in the ninth house is Huath reversed, suggesting a surprise revelation. One of the looming mysteries is who leaked the draft of the Dobbs opinion, as apparently only a rather limited number of people had access to it. If it was a disgruntled clerk or other similar employee, it would still be a scandal but a relatively minor one in the scheme of things. If it was leaked by one of the justices, though, things could get rather more interesting, and even more so if it was leaked by one of the justices in the majority (perhaps to pressure a wobbly colleague, perhaps to defuse some of the expected reaction in advance of the formal ruling).

So in summary, we're in for:
  • A change in direction by the adminstration, which at least partially mollifies the redder regions

  • The elites back off on their support of salaried professional / woke politics and move somewhat closer toward the median voter

  • Spectulatively, a scandal involving Hunter Biden, and the president, for whatever reason, does not intervene to protect him

  • A surprise revelation concerning the courts
